Demanded remote IT professions
The Ministry of Economic Development has named the most demanded IT professions at a distance. Most of the vacancies are for programmers, another 20% - for remote analysts. In addition, experts named the most popular programming languages.

Developer vacancies in the Java programming language turned out to be the most - 11.7% of the total number in "remote" IT. The first half of the Top 50 ranking also included developers in such programming languages as: C# (number 3), PHP (number 4), Kotlin (number 8), Python (number 14), Golang (Go) (number 18), Objective-C (number 22), Ruby (number 24). Developers on the 1C platform became the seventh in the ranking in terms of demand, and on the 1C Bitrix - the thirtieth.
"Indeed, the specialists involved in the development and analysis of data have the fewest barriers to full-fledged work remotely - their work requires intensive team cooperation to a lesser extent. In fact, the work of such specialists was already distributed and remote, they just worked in offices", - says Nikita Cherkasenko, director of the HRM technology and analytics department at Rostelecom.
Less than 0.3% of vacancies in IT are for developers with knowledge of the Swift language, which is used to develop mobile applications in iOS. At the same time, there were more than 12 times more vacancies among developers in the Kotlin language, which is used to develop applications for the Android platform.
"Personnel trends change depending on the season, the epidemiological situation, the mass reaction of companies to any socio-economic or technological challenges. The development and implementation of IT solutions, as we see now, is at the peak of demand, which has a very positive effect on the labor market as a whole: a large number of vacancies have appeared, many of them in a remote format, including for people without work experience, serious IT training, only basic digital literacy is required.New labor market conditions smooth out the uneven economic landscape, providing people with opportunities to enter the IT industry, self-realization and increase their own capitalization. With sufficient motivation and the ability to learn a new programming language at a basic level, you can master it in a couple of months," commented Oleg Podolsky, Managing Director of the Human Resources Competence Center for the Digital Economy of the University 2035.
In addition to specialists with knowledge of specific programming languages, the top twenty most in-demand vacancies were data analysts, support service specialists, product analysts, system administrators, system analysts, business analysts, technical support engineers, CRM analysts and product managers.
20% of vacancies fall on remote analysts. Employers show increased interest in this area to product analysts (6th line of the rating), system analysts, business analysts and analysts in the field of customer relationship management (CRM), who took 10.11 and 13 positions in the Top 50, respectively. Web analysts turned out to be less in demand (rank 38), and the last Top 40 included analysts in the field of human resource management, information security and software quality analysts.
Employers are even less likely to delegate technical support to remote employees - this area accounts for 12% of the total number of vacancies. System administrators, database administrators, technical support specialists are in demand in this area. Only 6% of job openings are for software testers, software quality analysts, and DevOps engineers. IT managers have the lowest chance of finding a remote job - only 4% of vacancies are for technical directors, product managers.
Among the assistants in demand on the market without special education and without work experience, vacancies for technical support specialists (32%), development apprentices (18%), data entry operators (16%), PC operators (13%), testers (11%) are popular . Digital literacy is also sufficient for employment in the positions of remote test analysts, junior analysts, implementation project specialists, chat support specialists, hosting service manager assistants.
"Beginning IT professionals are most in demand in the positions of remote programming teachers, junior analysts, system administrators, manual testing interns, junior user interface developers, junior software quality analysts, developers in the .NET framework, JavaScript and PHP programmers. The least popular offers for beginner IT specialists to work in technical support," adviser to the Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Svyatoslav Sorokin believes.
Valentina Kurenkova, Acting Director of the "Personnel for the Digital Economy" direction, emphasized that "the situation with the pandemic has not only revealed the importance of numbers and the ability to use modern technologies among employees, but also revealed a shortage of qualified IT personnel." "The business was able to more accurately formulate its request for the required specialists - and these are not only programmers or developers. In whatever area the employee is employed - personnel administration, design, marketing, education - he needs skills in the field of digital technologies. In this situation, its relevance confirmed the federal project "Personnel for the Digital Economy", which aims to implement measures to help citizens master digital and everything related to digital literacy and advanced training in the field of IT - from increasing the number of state-funded places in universities to retraining specialists in other areas. a project for schoolchildren "Lesson of numbers" is also being implemented, within the framework of which children, future specialists in the digital economy, get acquainted with technologies and receive the first knowledge about IT specialties that will be in demand on the market in the near future. , dedicated to artificial intelligence and machine learning, will be held from September 14 to 27," she specified.
Dmitry Smyslov, Vice President for Human Resources and Educational Projects at Mail.ru Group, notes that the epidemiological situation that prevailed in our country at the beginning of this year posed several large-scale challenges for the company: this is the transfer of almost 8,000 current employees to a remote work format, and hiring new professionals. "In a short time, the recruitment of new employees to the team in a remote mode, onboarding and adaptation of newcomers were organized and fully automated. Employee training was also transferred online: we focused on training managers to manage distributed teams, new rules for communication within teams, process efficiency, stress management and vitality," he said.
