Medical examination of employees

The Ministry of Labor of Russia, in a letter dated April 29, 2021 N 14-2 / OOG-3864, clarified the procedure for releasing workers aged 18 to 39 from work to undergo medical examination.

In the letter of the Ministry of Labor, in particular, it is noted that:

During the medical examination, employees have the right to be released from work for one working day while retaining their place of work (position) and average earnings. Clinical examination for citizens aged 18 to 39 years inclusive is carried out once every 3 years. In this case, the year of medical examination should be considered the calendar year in which the citizen reaches the appropriate age.
The employee is released from work to undergo medical examination on the basis of his written application, while the day of release from work is subject to agreement with the employer.
Employees are required to submit to the employer certificates from medical organizations confirming their medical examination on the day they are released from work, if this is provided for by a local regulatory act.
